Here we are at the Blenz coffee in Yaletown, Downtown Vancouver, BC. This is me ( Rastin Mehr - Joomla! Development Work Group Member ) and Ash (www.Peerglobe.com) joining our other team-mates around the world. We have all been working for the last couple days from Brussels, Washington DC, New York, and San Francisco. We are connecting through IRC channels as a group effort to fix bugs in the next released of Joomla! CMS verion 1.5 the best open source content management system on the face of planet.

I bet if the Ruby on Rails community finds out that I am converting to Joomla! they will cast me out.(lol)
No but seriously I think Joomla! framework and Rails have a lot in common and I couldn’t be happier for joining this team. Also Thanks to Rastin and his community-driven mind for getting all of us together.
Anyway good luck to you all and let’s hope this type of event becomes a norm within the open source community.
Can’t wait to get the new framework out Ash! Joomla 1.5 has been written from ground up based on a completely new MVC Architecture. Way more advanced compare to the 5 year old design in the Joomla 1.0
What I like about this framework is the fact that a business can have a CMS powered website today, and later on convert it to a company Intranet, or Social Networking and online community. This is an ideal modular solution for many organizations who decide not to go for an over bloated expensive applications offered by some software vendors.
