Yesterday Peter Russel interviewed me about the Anahita Social Engine ™ and how we used the beloved Nooku Framework to develop our social web development technology. I think despite the stuffy nose caused by summer allergy and being up early after late hours of working the night before, I managed to communicate what we have been cooking up for the past 18 months!
I wish my good friend and partner Ash Sanieyan from Peerglobe Technology could be there in the video too. Having spent countless of sleepless nights and long working days together on the Anahita project he could have offered very interesting inputs about the technology from his own perspective. Perhaps next time he will the one on the spotlight while I’ll be coding and fixing bugs

After few months of development in Nooku Framework I would like to write a little review, so you’ll know about this amazing framework developed by the talented folks at the Joomlatools that gave wings to our project. Nooku Framework+Joomla gave us the MVC and Content Mangement Framework (CMF) that we’ve always wanted to develop the Anahita Social ™ Engine project.
Drupal and Wordpress severely lack a solid software development framework. Many PHP MVC frameworks such as CakePHP or Symfony lacked any sort of the higher level functionalities such as CMS, Template Engine, Extensions Management, Menu Management, basic user management, authentication, Etc.
Joomla 1.5 closed the gap by providing both the MVC framework for software development and all the higher level set of functionalities that I mentioned the last paragraph. Nooku Framework took the framework

Following the last week’s public bug squashing event that we did ( part 1 – part 2 ) with other 5 other major cities in the world, 100 commits were made and 88 bugs have been fixed by 52 of community members who have participated in the process.
Today we are proud to announce that Joomla! CMS version 1.5 Release Candidate 4 has been publicly released, and we are already looking forward to the next major release of our beloved content management system which will be the stable version.
